HonuWorx has been awarded the Demonstration Excellence Award by Polaris Tech Bridge, following a live over-the-horizon subsea demonstration at BlueTIDE 2026 in Newport, Rhode Island.
HonuWorx joined the Collaborative Integration Opportunity on 27 August, hosted by Polaris Tech Bridge with the US Navy, selected in the Multi-Domain Autonomous Systems focus area alongside technologies spanning the air, surface and land domains.
An operator based onshore in Newport commanded an ROV over the horizon in Loch Linnhe, near Fort William, Scotland, running a series of surveillance, inspection and intervention tasks live across the Atlantic.
The demonstration ran through HonuNet, HonuWorx's cloud-to-edge software platform. Onshore command over-the-horizon is a fundamental pillar of the architecture HonuWorx is developing for persistent autonomous subsea operations, enabling distributed human-in-the-loop command, control and supervision across uncrewed systems.
"Thank you to everyone who joined us at BlueTIDE 2026, and to Polaris Tech Bridge for the opportunity to be part of the event. It was a chance to meet new defence customers and demonstrate what our team and our architecture can do, running subsea operations from thousands of miles away. And the team really appreciated being recognised with the Demonstration Excellence Award".

In December 2023, off Vancouver, HonuWorx achieved the world’s first deployment of an intervention-class ROV at depth from an uncrewed submersible mothership, controlled from shore. That system, Loggerhead, is HonuWorx’s all-electric, long-endurance submersible mothership. Its development continues today through an R&D programme with Defence Research and Development Canada, awarded earlier this year under NATO DIANA’s Rapid Adoption Service, which is extending the Loggerhead concept into deeper water.
