There is an increasing drive towards uncrewed and autonomous systems to protect high-value assets and reduce risk to service personnel:
- Critical national infrastructure: monitoring threats to seabed infrastructure such as cables and pipelines
- Mine countermeasures: detecting and classifying mines that pose threats to allies and civilian seafarers
- Anti-submarine warfare: monitoring adversarial submarine activity in territorial waters and at geographic choke points
